The Great Northern Builders team recently collaborated with Vee Marie Designs to help the owners of this 1959 rambler finish their basement — and double their square footage in the process! Located in Inver Grove Heights, the previously unfinished basement was dark and dingy. The homeowners knew they could turn what was once wasted space into something beautiful and functional. Their biggest goal was to create a space where the family could hang out together. They also wanted to add an extra bedroom and bathroom and have an area to work out.
We had a wonderful time collaborating with these homeowners on their basement finishing project and are thrilled with how this family flex space turned out. The main living area includes a kitchenette, perfect for everything from family movie nights to game day celebrations. A dedicated workout room features rubber flooring and plenty of wall space to hang mirrors or mount a TV. One of our favorite details is the custom floral wallpaper in the downstairs bedroom — we love the pretty pop of color it adds to the space!
