Minnetonka, Minnesota

Minnetonka is a thriving community with a population of 49,734. The city is just eight miles from Minneapolis. The city’s name means “Great Water”, which is a name from the Dakota Indian Tribe. The city was founded in 1850, then six years later the city was incorporated. The city has many exciting things to see and do, and this is why the city attracts so many visitors.

The Gray’s Bay Marina is an excellent location for fishing, boating, and feeding the ducks. Shady Oak Beach and the Libbs Lake Beach are two of the public beaches in the city where everyone can go swimming. The beaches have lifeguards, picnic areas, and concession stands, so everyone can enjoy a day at the beach. The city is home to ten hockey rinks, ten skating rinks, and over eighty miles of trails that visitors can enjoy.

If you would like to learn about the history of the city, then the Charles H. Burwell House is an ideal spot. The Charles H. Burwell House is one of the first Victorian houses built in the city in 1874, and since then the house has been restored. There are tours provided daily where visitors can see what life was like in the late 1870’s. Arts in the Park is a yearly event that occurs during the summer months. The Arts in the Park event features live music and free movies. All of the activities are free, and this is a great time for visitors to meet the residents of this great city. Fall Remodelers Showcase Sneak Peek: Minnetonka Man Shed

August is here, and fall is right around the corner! In anticipation of the Twin Cities Fall Remodelers Showcase, we’re sharing a sneak peek of our featured project, a fun Minnetonka Man Shed. As we all navigate the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic on our daily lives, more of our clients are finding new ways to work, play, and stay busy at home.

Spaces like this Minnetonka Man Shed are a fantastic solution for families who are looking to expand their square footage. Whether you’re hoping to add a home gym, workspace, she shed, man cave, playhouse, or entertaining area, the sky’s the limit on what you can create! This client was hoping to build a new, independent escape on their property to relax and entertain.

Together, we zoned in on the idea of a “Man Cave” style space situated on this large half acre lot. When it came to design, our first goal was for the new shed to blend in with the rest of the property. We chose a lot of natural, rustic materials such as reclaimed wood, outdoor stonework, natural cedar, and earthy colors. Inside, the room needed to feel relaxed but refined. The classy minibar is perfect for entertaining friends over happy hour drinks or cheering on your favorite team together!

Large windows and the commercial style garage door fill the room with natural light and bring the outdoors inside. From the custom-designed cold-rolled steel fireplace to the reclaimed wood accent wall to the soaring wooden ceiling beams, every design detailed was thoughtfully considered. Adding Entertainment Space Downstairs

We got a call from a family that had finally decided to put their downstairs basement area to good use. They called us to do some work as their basement remodeler in Minnetonka. We were more than happy to help them out! The first thing they mentioned during their initial meeting was that they wanted to be able to entertain in the basement. The kids in the family, a brother and sister, had just entered high school and middle school, so it was important for the parents to have a space for them to be able to have their friends over (where they could also keep an eye on them). It was equally important for the parents to be able to relax in this space as well.

The basement and bathroom remodeling begins!
